Wasn't "Tommy" slang for American soldiers, not British?

well no, but i'm a big 40K fan. Plus , the death korps are based on real life german french and dutch soldiers from ww1

well actually British troops used similar armor as the Germans. the only difference is the British had way more variety, so perhaps you're right. maybe i should've given one of the other Irtish variants

here's brewster's "Ned Kelly" design armor [link] it took a firing squad of guys [link]

here we have a very modern looking "plate carrier" design [link] [link]

here's another rather modern design [link] looks like a bomb disposal suit

Huh, I did not know that, I thought only the Germans experimented with body armour during WW1 and the Soviets with the stuff during WW2. For your Tommy design, I think the plate carrier would look the best, as well as avoiding any further confusion about Anglanders in Sappenpanzer.

And my God-Emperor that Brewster's armour looks impractical! Tough perhaps but I doubt he could get very far over the cratered mess of No Man's Land.

sorry for bothering you, but there's a lot of things I need to sort out, the cover idea was a complete failure but I'm taking one last shot and thinking over a new idea. After talking to a few contacts of mine and some BETA's, I was told to base the cover on the actual character's. Here's where it gets difficult, I need a request, it's mostly because your drawings are more suited to what I'm looking for and people reccomend you. I just need a cover with this "TOMMY" and your british officer (It's the one with the WW1 uniform and the lightning bolts coming ftom his left hand.) As`for the background, I'm not sure, but I was thinkinkg a WW1 era war, with the character's inside a trench.

This is very important to me so please reply as soon as possible, thank you.

My first attempt at the fic was a complete failure. Those that read it mentioned that the idea of the death korps acting all german was an extremely bad approach. Someone mentioned craeting a custom race, somthing that was different, so after reading every warhammer book and site I could find, I decided on calling them praetorians (Unless that's already taken) They have the same fate as the korps, they destroyed thier own planet with missiles due to the threat of extermination and they are forced to wear enviromental suits for the rest of thier lives which is why I need the character's wearing suits and gasmasks. (They also need to be wearing british WW1 uniform but there armour will be set in WW2, I would like to see how that turns out.)

kriegers acting like Germans is a bad approach!? what the fuck!? but kriegers are Germans! who the fuck said that and why the fuck did they!? what kind of reasoning is this!? did you portray Germans badly? how did you do it?

also the name praetorians is already taken and unfortunately for you they're also based off of British soldiers albeit from the Zulu wars

I potrayed them as the wehrmacht from ww2, I used language, weapons and vehicles (maybe that was a bad idea, too much german, not enough death korps) and besides, I noticed the death korps aren't actually popular to any reader, they just wan't the latest armies, not ones who are mentioned only in forgeworld.

It seems everytime I find a good name It's already taken, but if I mention the race praetorian is owned by games workshop that will be okay, right? (The praetorians are actually a very old army that are no longer available anywhere, you can only read about them in the lexicanum) Thier normal uniform is actually based on the british during the zulu wars, so I'm okay... I think? (When in war, they switch to the combat uniform which looks like a WW1 british soldier)

well then i guess there's your problem. i mean sure portraying kriegers as Germans characteristically is just right, but when you start messing with wargear and vehicles i guess people are gonna get rustled in the jimmies. also i think if you're going to portray krieger as Germans you're better off basing them off of WW1 Germans, socially and culturally they're very similar

if you're ever thinking of doing kriegrs again perhaps you should give me call

i really recommend you find a different name though. i mean sure if you say the name praetorians came from GW that's ok from a legal point of view. but what are you gonna say to your readers when they start asking why your praetorians aren't wearing red uniforms and pith helmets? it'll cause confusion for new fans of 40k and some outrage from the old fans, remember even though the praetorians aren't being made anymore a lot of people still remember them

the fact that GW's praetorians and your praetorians are both based off of Brits is too much of a similarity as it is

Your missing the point, my praetorians are going to replace the old ones, the original praetorians your thinking of don't even exist in the timeline, but I guess a different name would be needed, I don't think the reader's will like the name I picked already, there's so many names out there, it's hard to find the right one.

The uniform are seperated into two different parts, non-combat is where they wear the normal dress code, (dark blue trousers, pitch helmets and red uniform) the combat part is where they change into a more combat ready gear (Tanned green uniform and trousers, tanned green helmet, tan yellow combat gear and black magnum boots) The reason why they change is because they must keep their non-combat uniform clean at all times. (Which means they don't wear them during battle)

You might want to explain that.
