just some more human wastelander NPCs for :iconahriman42:'s Lost Future project

left to right
Resistance Member
-they're much more well equipped and trained than most human combatant organizations since most of their settlements are based around old military installations they're basically the closest thing humanity has to a standing army against the Network
Not Sure What to Call Him
-he probably just travels around he's got clothes fit for bad weather and cold and he's got a gasmask and limited NBC equipment for if he's forced to trek through irradiated/toxic areas he's something of a traveling survivalist perhaps
-they're just guys with guns they can be found either defending settlements as far as large urban areas to shantytowns in the middle of nowhere or being hired for cheap to defend Salvager groups
-Salvager Technist
some of the most knowledgeable people in a Salvager settlement they usually just stay in while the Salvager Caravans come in and bring them stuff to fix and restore i'd imagine that for the free machine living in the same settlements they're considered doctors as well
they're the outside guys of a Slavager settlement they go all over the place looking of tech they also act as traveling merchants

hopefully next up will be some robots

A bunch of post-apocaplytica dudes with NBC gear and yet none of them have any gloves.....

Still, a damn good looking picture!

thanks :D

yeah well it's not really that much of a nuclear wasteland the apocalypse was caused by robots more like

:D No problem, you keep drawing and I'll keep commentating/making rubbish jokes.

Ah right, well save for flesh eating nanobites I suppose they can be excused for not having any gloves-still, its not an outfit without gloves.....

Strangely enough, these actually DO look like the people in my neighborhood.

Posing on the welding mask salvager is great, and I keep on getting a Dale Gribble vibe from all your hat-and-sunglasses dudes (note: that's a good thing). iPodman is also solid, and the Resistance/Militia dudes all look nicely menacing.

Looking forward to seeing some robots, though.

yeah i usually have the tendency of making nameless design characters or nameless NPCs have their faces covered and i felt a cap sunglasses and a scarf was a good way of doing that in a post apoc setting and at the same time avoid giving everyone gasmasks

right now i've got three types of design routes for the free machines one being like a humanoid computer, something like Japan's Asimo except with a bit more wear and makeshift modifications the second one looks a little something like a living mannequin/doll and the third one looks like the small droids from Starwars or your usual retro tin-can like robots

The one you did before was pretty on-target. I'd suggest an Asimo+mannequin combo. My goal was to create things that looked like People, but not Humans. But a few "old clunkers" do sound pretty hilarious/cool. If its another lineup

I actually started doing a quest on tg, to get the creative juices flowing.
This is the character and his allies in their current status. I stole a bit from your work, I think. Might give you some ideas.

I also made this a while ago:
But some of your directions sound sweet too.

While cool, gasmasks are indeed overdone. Where the frak did they all come from? Did someone find a giant warehouse full of gasmasks at some point?

Somehow it reminded me of all the stuff in Metro 2033. Also, nice work!

thanks :D

yeah that's exactly where the inspiration comes from that and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. i've always felt that those depictions of post apocalypse have a more grim and realistic atmosphere rather than the free wild of Mad Max or the retro old world charm of the Fallout games Metro and STALKER have a feeling of fearing for your life whereas the other two have a more free spirited feel

plus everyone else always seem to looks to Mad Max or Fallout for inspiration so i thought i'd look somewhere else
