In Our Shoes by NicklausofKrieg In Our Shoes by NicklausofKrieg
just my old eldar hunter character doing one of his experiments again it's been a year or two since i last drew him

his labs are stationed on a small planet near Ghorstandgrad where if you were to look at certain maps of the imperium is near the craftworld biel-tan having an entire eldar craftworld nearby gives him a steady supply of eldar materials and test subjects
he's quite fond of experimenting on spiritstones in which he has a vast collection of them he also has a particular interest in spiritseers for their abilities in handling eldar souls

so here's just another one of his experiments involving the spiritstone of a banshee exarch he handpicked from his collection it pretty much resulted in a dead psyker an empty spiritstone and a soon to be executed eldar possessed guardsman gone berserk

I'd like to carefully point out that Craftworlds are not only extraordinarily difficult to find, to the point the story in Path of the Warrior was highly questionable, but Craftworlds do not linger or stay in any one particular location for very long.

While it's true that what goes on in the physical does not usually influence where they move or stay, most of the icons that point out Craftworld locations are "most recent activity".

Large collection of spirit stones would also include more than 3-4. Even Inquisitor Raleigh (Ordo Xenos, Xenology) only had 2.

well it's not like they go off looking for craftworlds they just happen to be fighting beil-tan due to the proximity of their current location and actions

and also they're a well traveled unit, they've traveled far and wide fighting eldar so his stock of eldar test subjects come from all over the place, he's just having a field day today

i'd say he carries up to six spiritstones at any given time, those that haven't been used up in experimentation that it

"And seen here in this slide is one of our experiments with the Eldar Soulstones. We have noted that when a human and eldar soul have to share the same body, the result is a frenzied psyche that is not only outraged at it's surroundings but also at itself. Now this next slide is what happend when we used partially and fully mind-scrubbed guardsmen as hosts for Eldar souls..."

So umm...what does his experiments accomplish?

And what does he do to living eldar prisoners?

it accomplishes alot when you think about it

imagine if the imperium can use the eldar's soul trapping techniques they use on spirit stones the ordo malleus or any daemon hunting organization can now not only kill a demon but they can also keep its soul from reentering the warp by trapping it in a stone

the adeptus astartes can use such technology so increase the survivability and longevity of a dreadnaught's pilot by instead of relying on the pilot's dwindling flesh they can now rely on the immortal power of his soul and they don't have to worry about harm coming to the pilot since if he dies he'll just end up back in the stone

and who knows maybe with enough research they'll be able to raise people back from the dead

while as for his living eldar prisoners he pretty much puts them through all sorts of abuse to find out new ways on how to effective kill them be it through psychic means or physical means he also researches ways to better protect oneself from eldar mind attacks and weaponry one such gadget he's created through his research is that prosthetic head of his

Those are actually pretty cool ideas but don't you think that is on the road to science, and we all know science has been outlawed by the Mechcanicus.

nah science ain't banned by the mechanicus they're just not allowed to research certain things in accordance with their treaty with the imperium other than that they worship science

but probably the reason such ideas wouldn't be approved by the mechanicus or the imeprium is because it delves way too deep into the idea of using xeno technology which even amongst the ordo is xenos frowned upon

but of course such rules have never really stopped radical members of the inquisition before

Hah! So you used the idea as well hey?

I like this scene, if I ever manage to fix up Das Boot and rewrite the bloody thing would you mind if I used this scene?

Since I had an eldar possessed Guardsman as well if you recall. :)

yeah i guess so i've been thinking about the idea for a while now i mean imagine how easy it would be to possess someone with a spiritstone and a psyker?

sure you can use it

Since humans can be possesed by daemons I think they could be possesed by Eldar ghosts as well. That was the plot point of The Saga of the Lone Guardsman after all. :3

yeah despite him being loyal to the imperial cause you probably wouldn't agree with the stuff he does

he's almost been put to death multiple times by conservative members of the inquisition but he keeps getting pulled of the hook by his more radical supporters and peers in the ordo xenos
